Access for people with disabilities

You can move around the entire building without barriers. Within the halls, you can reach your seat for guests with reduced mobility without any obstacles. There are four public disabled parking spaces on the left-hand side of the building at the taxi rank in the Bockenheimer Anlage, where there is also a ramp (9.5 m, 80 cm difference in height), which you can use to get into the building comfortably in a wheelchair.

If you park your car in the Alte Oper multi-storey car park, a lift will take you into the building. This option is only available in connection with events taking place in the Alte Oper Frankfurt and for visits to the Opéra restaurant. 

If you are travelling by wheelchair via Opernplatz, you can reach the building via the ramp on the left-hand side of the building. Generous lifts take you to the Großer Saal and our foyers.

You can access the gallery of the Mozart Saal via our barrier-free entrance on the left-hand side. Designated barrier-free seats are available in all halls. 

In the Großer Saal, the seats in the stalls up to row 21 or 25 (depending on the seating arrangement) are completely accessible without steps.

In the Mozart Saal, the regular seats in the gallery are accessible with a few steps.

For the inclusion of people with reduced mobility, the Alte Oper Frankfurt has reserved 12 wheelchair spaces in the Großer Saal and two spaces in the Mozart Saal exclusively for wheelchair users at its own events. Please ask at the advance booking office, at the box office or by telephone for the corresponding seats.

If you book online, please note the markings on the seating plan (Großer Saal: rows 20 and 21 or rows 24 and 25 depending on the seating arrangement, Mozart Saal: gallery on the left). Due to the evacuation concept, we are unable to provide you with any other seats. We therefore ask you not to take any other seats. 

Severely disabled people receive tickets at half price in regular advance sales on presentation of the relevant ID (from GdB 80). If the ID shows a "B" for the necessary accompanying person, the accompanying person receives the same discount.
