Pretty Woman – The Musical
At Christmas 2025, audiences will be enraptured by the romantic story of the unlikely couple at the Alte Oper: the successful musical production of 'Pretty Woman' is coming to Frankfurt, telling the story of the romance between prostitute Vivian and businessman Edward Lewis to the music of rock legend Bryan Adams.

Vivian and Edward - an iconic couple
They first met on the big screen exactly 35 years ago.Pretty Woman' is a modern version of 'Cinderella' and 'My Fair Lady'. A social experiment in which two different but equally strong personalities decide to join forces. When the film was released in 1990, it was an outstanding box-office hit. Julia Roberts, in particular, received an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe for her performance, and the time was ripe for a remake of the iconic love story.
In 2018, Vivian and Edward became the protagonists of a musical for the first time on Broadway in New York, which had its European premiere the following year and is now embarking on its first major tour. Rock legend Bryan Adams, together with his close artistic partner Jim Vallance, gave Pretty Woman a musical makeover, composing and writing all the songs for the musical of the same name. The result is a romantic, humorous and rousing stage event.
