Barrelhouse Jazzband meets... Axel Zwingenberger

After the great enthusiasm at the premiere of this programme last November, the logical conclusion can only be: Barrelhouse Jazzband meets Axel Zwingenberger - once again! And so the two greats of the German jazz scene meet again for a liaison of powerful piano style and filigree swing jazz. On the one hand, the pianist who has been the uncrowned king of boogie woogie for more than half a century. And on the other, Germany's oldest jazz band - which has been rejuvenated considerably in the last two years. The 'veterans' Frank Selten, Lindy Huppertsberg, Roman Klöcker, Michael Ehret and Jan Luley, some of whom have been with the band since 1961, have now been joined by the two 'youngsters' Matthias Seuffert and Joachim Lösch - and they have really 'grooved'!
