Five days open, more than 200 events - and no entrance fee! Fratopia means concerts for everyone, innovative formats, invitations, discoveries, surprises and encounters. We are happy to share the music with you once again! For five days, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 15:00 to 24:00, a varied programme awaits you. The common denominator of the more than 200 individual half-hour events, some of which take place in parallel, some of which take place one after the other: We turn the classical concert programme on its head! Classical repertoire will be presented in a fresh way, from new perspectives (for example, in the open space of the Great Hall) or in the dark. We have invited artists and ensembles who enjoy crossing genre boundaries and are interested in new ways of presenting music in the concert hall. In some formats, the audience will also be invited to participate (singing or dancing) - but the same applies to all events: get involved in a new musical experience!
How does it work?
Just come along, spontaneously or with a fixed plan, for a single date or a whole series of concerts, with friends or alone. Admission to all events is free - as long as our halls have capacity, you are welcome to just find your seat in the hall. The detailed programme will be published on 1 July 2025, when you will find all the participating artists, ensembles and programmes with a detailed schedule in our digital navigator at alteoper.de/fratopia-app.
