Well, she started early ... She received her first violin lessons at the age of three, performed in public at the age of six and was not yet ten when she began to study the violin. Child prodigy, talent of the century, Hilary Hahn was all that. And today? Star violinist, there's no other way to put it. Practice makes perfect - that's still the rule in classical music. But not everyone capitalises on their early dream start as successfully as the 44-year-old violinist from the USA. She has long since reached the top. Hilary Hahn plays in the violin Olympus. She performed in Germany for the first time exactly 30 years ago, with Beethoven's Violin Concerto - and it is precisely this standard-setting concerto, one of the absolute masterpieces for violin and orchestra, that she is now performing at the Junge Konzert in the Alte Oper. However, what caused such a stir among experts and audiences at the time will not be repeated. Today, no one can be surprised by her stylistically confident, beautiful sound and superior approach to Beethoven's violin concerto. But you can and will automatically hold your breath again.
