Conclusion with the participants of the concert

‘You embrace it and become one with it,’ Philipp Schupelius answers the question: ’Why cello?’ But it's not just the special physicality that makes his instrument so endearing to him. It is also the enormous range of emotions that he can create with the cello, says the Berlin native. The young cellist is currently forcing his way into the consciousness of contemporary concert life. For the British broadcaster Classic FM, he is one of the 30 most sensational ‘Rising Stars’ of 2024. Schupelius has also won numerous other awards and has already released his debut CD, with which he follows in the footsteps of one of the greats of his profession: Pablo ‘Pau’ Casals. In the ‘Debut’ series, Schupelius presents himself with a colourful programme between romanticism and early modernism.
