In this concert, mature sound meets young enthusiasm when the traditional Viennese orchestra is joined on stage by Bruce Liu at the piano and Marie Jacquot on the podium. The Frenchwoman has been Principal Guest Conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra since the 2023/24 season and delights audiences with her fresh interpretations as well as the stunningly brilliant sounds she is able to elicit from the orchestra. In her programme, Jacquot now brings the spirit of her Austrian place of work to Frankfurt: the evening begins with a Bruckner arrangement by the orchestra's founder Ferdinand Löwe. Shooting star Bruce Liu then introduces himself with Ludwig van Beethoven's magnificent Third Piano Concerto - a young artist who we will undoubtedly be hearing a lot more of. And the crowning finale is the Fifth Symphony by perhaps the most famous Viennese by choice, Ludwig van Beethoven.
